The Mar de Frades Atlantico Brut is a sparkling wine made from the Albariño grape in the D.O. Rías Baixas and delights with natural freshness and a maritime influence. The Finca Valiñas also offers stunning vistas of the Ría de Arosa estuary, from which sailing ships with pilgrims to Santiago de Compostela used to depart. This explains the «Mar de Frades» name, which translates as «Sea of the Monks».

The Mar de Frades winery in the Rias Baixas region in northern Spain has dedicated itself wholeheartedly to the Albarino grape variety. Great passion and attention to detail are the hallmarks of the premium-quality Galician wines produced from this grape variety. Winemaker Paula Fandiño probably understands the grape variety better than most in the region.
