Prats & Symington has really put the region on the map, with its multiple award-winning Douro red wines. Julio Bastos runs the Dona Maria winery in the Alentejo. His wines, some of which are made from ancient vines of the indigenous Alicante Bouschet variety, combine Portuguese tradition and international classicism. Prats & Symington is closely associated with Graham’s. Founded in 1820 and now run by the Symington family, it is one of the most renowned port wine houses. In the wine sector, the Symington family also works together with Bruno Prats.
